Nature is a Portal

My goodness can nature ever make you feel small. Walking through the California Redwood Forest was jaw dropping. My daughter and I hit the park at the perfect time of day…..when everyone was leaving and the sun was slowly coming down. It was quiet, damp, a bit dark and pleasantly eerie. Life comes in to perspective pretty quick when you stand under these mammoth trees.

And if only I could capture the feeling, there’s something spectacular about it and it transports me to the most comfortable time and place that I can’t put my finger on. Maybe it’s as simple as nature; I always feel a sense of peace and comfort when I’m surrounded by only nature. Whatever it is; I know I just want more of it.

When you stand beneath these behemoths and look up you honestly have a better understanding of your place in the world and it’s kind of humbling how all mighty we as humans make ourselves out to be. If you’ve never had the pleasure of being in the presence of these special treasures, I highly recommend. Until we meet again.
